"The First Lady"

Camille-Brown Owens feels as though her marriage is no longer the first priority for her husband, Josiah Owens who has just been installed as pastor for one of the largest black churches in Phoenix Arizona. After having to deal with the countless allegations of her husband’s infidelity and to top it off accusations of him being a homosexual, Camille is finding it very hard to be the “supportive” first lady. Tired of having to lead by example for the women, her position as the go-to lady of the church, not to mention the faith’s “by-laws” that she refuses to adhere to, Camille introduces the world to the real woman hiding behind the big church hat! As she’s approaching forty, she no longer feels that time or even God is on her side to have a life of her own. Therefore, she takes matters into her own hands. Unfortunately, her plan of passion for a free life causes nothing but chains of lies, hate and even death.

In spite of rumors, and a wife who no longer supports him, Pastor Josiah Brown tries earnestly to build God’s house while his own falls under the pressure of paternity suits, unrelenting gay bashing, deceit and murder. Struggling to live by the very word he teaches from the pulpit every Sunday, Josiah’s faith is tested. His grade at the end of the day however will only be as good as his faith says so.
What is a woman to do when she feels her husband refuses to see that marriage is the FIRST ministry any man of God should deliver? Leave? Stay?

Camille Brown Owens does everything but pray, and that leads the First Lady down a road no woman, second or last, should ever have to travel.  The saddest part is, she takes her family with her.
